On the 78th Independence Day, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath spoke about the state’s progress over the past seven years during his address in Lucknow.

Economic Growth

CM Yogi mentioned that Uttar Pradesh has become India’s second-largest state economy, contributing 9.2% to the country’s GDP. He said, “If India has become the 5th largest economy from 10th place in the previous 10 years then Uttar Pradesh, in the previous 7 years, has also become India’s second largest state economy from the 6th or 7th economy.”

Support for the Poor

CM Yogi highlighted various initiatives aimed at uplifting the poor. Over 56 lakh individuals have benefited from the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, 1 crore 86 lakh cooking gas connections have been provided, and over 2 crore 65 lakh families are receiving potable water. Additionally, 150 lakh people are receiving free rations.

Zero Poverty Campaign

CM Yogi discussed the Zero Poverty Campaign, stating that homes have been provided to the Vantanganiya and Musahar communities. He emphasized the government’s commitment to advancing the country through this campaign.

Employment and Education

The Mukhya Mantri Yuva Udyami Yojana aims to employ 50 lakh youth by linking them with employment and self-employment opportunities. Free tablets are being distributed to connect youths with technology, and more than 20 lakh children have been admitted to primary schools this year.

Support for Farmers

Under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme, over 75,000 crore rupees have been disbursed to 2 crore 62 lakh farmers. Irrigation bills have been waived, and solar pumps have been provided.

Nation First

CM Yogi urged every citizen to prioritize the nation to achieve the goal of a developed India by 2047. He said, “In a developed India, every farmer’s field will yield crops, women will have a bright future, and youth will have employment opportunities. The most important thing is ‘Nation First.'”
