Uttar Pradesh to Form Transformation Team for Social Welfare Schemes
The Uttar Pradesh government’s Social Welfare Department is set to form a Transformation Team to maximise the reach of its schemes. The Minister of State for Social Welfare, Asim Arun, has instructed the Director of Social Welfare to appoint the team within the next seven working days.
In a letter to the Director, Asim Arun emphasized that the department plans to revamp selected schemes in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of reform, performance, and transformation to achieve significant results. The Transformation Team will assess the current status of various schemes and propose necessary changes.
This team will include subject matter experts, IT professionals, legal experts, academic experts, and consultants. The initiative aims to increase the number of eligible individuals under the National Social Assistance Programme’s Old Age Pension and Family Benefit schemes by making the necessary changes.
Under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s directives, all departments of the UP government are consistently working to ensure that the benefits of various government public welfare schemes are easily accessible to eligible individuals.
