Noida (Uttar Pradesh) [India], July 20: The Uttar Pradesh Police have announced that all preparations for the Shravan Shivratri festival have been successfully completed. ASP Manish Kumar Mishra expressed confidence that the festival will be conducted smoothly.

Final Phase Meeting

In a final phase meeting held today, officers from neighboring districts of Delhi also participated. The meeting covered all aspects, including security, cleanliness, and other necessary arrangements.

About Shravan Shivratri

Shravan Shivratri is a holy Hindu festival dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is believed that Lord Shiva married Parvati on this day. During the month of Shravan, devotees keep a fast every Monday to seek Lord Shiva’s blessings. Married women pray for a happy marital life, while unmarried women pray for a suitable life partner.

Kanwar Yatra

The month of Shravan is also famous for the Kanwar Yatra, where devotees bring Ganga Jal and offer it to Lord Shiva. The Kanwar Yatra has already begun from Haridwar and Muzaffarnagar. Tight security arrangements have been made by the Uttarakhand police administration for the safety of the Kanwariyas.

Significance of Shravan

Shravan is the fifth month of the Hindu lunar calendar and is considered one of the holiest months of the year. Every Monday during this period is regarded as a highly auspicious time to fast and seek the blessings of Lord Shiva. The month of Shravan will begin on July 22.
