Uttar Pradesh’s Jal Shakti Minister Swatantra Dev Singh visited Badaun on Thursday to check the situation after recent heavy rainfall. The continuous rains have caused many problems for the residents.

Inspection of Embankments

Swatantra Dev Singh inspected the embankments in Nagla Varan, where an alert was issued due to the heavy rains. He assured that the best arrangements have been made to prevent erosion in the villages.

He said, “The last time we were hit with floods, we faced devastating conditions. Several MLAs of Badaun had complained about the embankments on which work was done. However, this time we have made the best arrangements for the people, and there will be no erosion in the villages.”

Arrangements for People Near Ganga River

Singh mentioned that all necessary arrangements have been made for people living near the Ganga river banks to ensure their safety. He added, “We have ensured that appropriate arrangements have been made so that the people living in the low-lying areas of the Ganga river will be safe and unharmed. If there is any danger, we have made all necessary arrangements.”

Appeal to Keep Ganga River Clean

Singh also appealed to the people to keep the Ganga river clean and be cautious. He said, “I appeal to the people to not cause any harm to the Ganga river and keep it clean. People should be cautious and take necessary actions.”

Condolences for Hathras Stampede

Singh expressed his grief over the Hathras stampede incident, where 121 people were killed on July 2. He extended his condolences and mentioned that the government has provided a compensation of Rs 2 lakh to each of the families of the deceased and is providing treatment to the injured. He said, “The incident was very tragic. The government has provided a compensation of Rs 2 lakh to each of the families of the deceased and is providing treatment to the injured.”
