Bahraich (Uttar Pradesh) [India], September 4: Uttar Pradesh Minister Sanjay Nishad announced on Wednesday that a new team of experts has been called to catch wolves in Bahraich. The team has set a target of 10 days to capture the wolves.

Addressing a press conference, Nishad urged people to avoid sleeping outdoors for their safety. He mentioned that the number of members in the shooting team has been doubled and that three wolves were seen in drone footage, although there could be more.

Uttar Pradesh Forest Minister Arun Saxena added that thermal drones are being used along with normal drones. CM Yogi Adityanath is closely monitoring the situation and has announced financial assistance of Rs 5 lakhs for the families of those who died in the wolf attacks. Most families have received this aid.

Earlier, the Forest Department and Police started awareness campaigns in 25 to 30 villages in Mahsi Tehsil to inform people about the situation and advise them on safety measures. According to the Bahraich Forest Division, three teams have been formed to conduct these campaigns using various publicity mediums.

A massive search operation, ‘Operation Bhediya,’ is underway to capture the remaining wolves. So far, four wolves have been caught, and 34 people have been injured in the attacks.
