The Election Commission has announced the dates for the upcoming Assembly elections in Maharashtra and Jharkhand. Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya expressed his confidence in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) winning in both states.

Election Details

Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar announced that Jharkhand’s elections will occur in two phases on November 13 and 20, while Maharashtra’s will be a single phase on November 20. Votes will be counted on November 23. The Jharkhand assembly’s term ends on January 5, 2025, with elections in 81 constituencies. In Maharashtra, the key contenders are the ruling Mahayuti Alliance and the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi coalition, contesting 288 seats.
