Uttar Pradesh Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya Criticizes Akhilesh Yadav and SP’s PDA Alliance
Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya has strongly criticized Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav. Maurya accused Yadav of being against backward classes and Dalits, and called the SP’s PDA (Pichrde Dalits Alpsankhyak) alliance a fraud. He also claimed that Yadav is a pawn of Congress.
Maurya said, ‘Akhilesh Yadav has always been against backwards and Dalits. He himself is a pawn of Congress.’ He further posted on X, ‘The SP chief @yadavakhilesh and his family are staunch opponents of the backward classes and the Dalits. SP’s PDA is a big fraud. The Congress pawn @yadavakhilesh playing in the hands of foreign powers, left no stone unturned to prevent the Prime Minister @narendramodi from becoming the Prime Minister for the third time.’
In response, Akhilesh Yadav called Maurya a ‘Mohra’ and criticized the BJP’s governance. Yadav said, ‘They (BJP) have spoiled every system. Every system and every department has been ruined…I heard that (Keshav Prasad) Maurya ji is ‘Mohra’. He is the password of Delhi’s WiFi. Tell me, will the government run like this?…UP will not run like this. They have cheated the people of UP.’
Yadav also unveiled ‘Samvidhan Manastambh’ at the SP headquarters in Lucknow and announced a ‘Monsoon Offer’ to form a new government in Uttar Pradesh. He stated, ‘Monsoon Offer: Bring a hundred, form the government!’
Maurya dismissed this offer as unrealistic dreams, referring to it as ‘Mungerilal ke haseen sapne’. He posted on X, ‘A sinking ship and a dying party whose both present and future are in danger. He may see ‘Mungerilal ke haseen sapne’ but they cannot be fulfilled.’
Earlier, Maurya caused a stir with a post from his office, emphasizing the importance of the organization over the government. This led to speculation of dissent within the BJP. Yadav alleged that the BJP’s power struggle meant it wasn’t thinking about the public.
In the 2017 state assembly elections, the Samajwadi Party won only 47 seats while the BJP won 312 seats with over 40% vote share. The next elections for the 403-member Uttar Pradesh legislative assembly will be held in 2027.
