Uttar Pradesh Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak Responds to Akhilesh Yadav’s Fake Encounter Allegations

Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Brajesh Pathak has responded to allegations made by Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav. Yadav accused the BJP government of making Uttar Pradesh the ‘capital of fake encounters.’ Pathak defended the state’s law and order situation, stating that since 2017, the public has lived in a fair and fear-free environment.

Pathak emphasized that the government’s job is to curb crime and addressed a recent encounter in Sultanpur. He stated that the police conducted a serious investigation, gathered evidence, and arrested the criminals involved. One criminal was killed in the encounter, and more than two and a half kilogrammes of gold were recovered.

Pathak criticized the opposition for portraying criminals as their own and not supporting the victims of crimes. He clarified that the encounters were not conducted based on caste, as claimed by the Samajwadi Party.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also criticized the BJP government over the alleged encounters, questioning the actions of the UP STF and the silence of the Central government on the issue.
