Uttar Pradesh Congress President Ajay Rai Visits Sheroes Cafe

On Saturday, Uttar Pradesh Congress President Ajay Rai visited Sheroes Cafe in Lucknow. This cafe is run by brave acid-attack survivors. Rai emphasized that the Congress party always stands with these survivors and urged the government to take strict action against those who sell acids.

Support for Acid-Attack Survivors

Rai stated, ‘Sheroes cafe, which is run by our daughters, who are the acid-attack survivors, the whole Congress family stands with them.’ He mentioned that a girl who recently suffered an acid attack is currently in the hospital, fighting for her life. Congress workers have visited her and expressed their support to her family.

Recent Acid Attack Incident

Rai shared on his official X handle about a recent incident in Lucknow where a young man attacked a girl student with acid, severely burning her. State Women Congress President Mamta Choudhary visited the victim at KGMU hospital, met her family, and assured them of all possible help. Choudhary criticized the government for failing to provide security and demanded swift justice through a fast-track court.

Call for Government Action

Rai urged the government to ban the sale of acids, which are easily available in shops for Rs 20 to Rs 30, to prevent such incidents. He also called for action against shop owners who sell acids.
