Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath Addresses PCS-J Exam Marks Error
The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) discovered that the marks alteration in the PCS-J Main Exam-2022 English answer sheets was due to human error, not criminal misconduct. An official release stated that the error did not compromise the confidentiality of any candidate.
To maintain trust among candidates, the Commission has decided to re-evaluate all answer sheets by July 30. The error occurred when candidate codes were mistakenly swapped on mark sheets, affecting the English language marks.
Disciplinary actions are being taken against the responsible officials, including the suspension of a Section Officer, a Review Officer, and an Assistant Review Officer. Departmental action is also being taken against a retired Assistant Review Officer and a Deputy Secretary for lax supervision. Reforms are being instituted to prevent future errors.
The main exam had six papers, totaling 1,000 marks, with the error occurring in a 100-mark paper. The final selection result for PCS-J 2022 was declared within six and a half months, with 55% of successful candidates being women.
