Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath Highlights Success in Mobile Manufacturing at SEMICON India 2024
Greater Noida (Uttar Pradesh), September 11: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced that the state’s efforts to develop the electronic industry are yielding significant results. Speaking at the inaugural session of SEMICON India 2024 in Noida, he stated that UP’s mobile manufacturing units now produce over 55% of India’s mobiles and over 50% of mobile components.
Under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Uttar Pradesh has also made strides in the IT sector, semiconductor, data center, and electronic manufacturing. The Chief Minister highlighted that Korean major Samsung, which operates Asia’s biggest mobile manufacturing plant in Noida, has invested in a display unit plant in the city.
Yogi Adityanath also announced the UP Semiconductor Policy 2024, aimed at creating a conducive environment for semiconductor investment. The policy includes attractive provisions such as capital subsidy, interest subvention, and reduced land, stamp, and electricity charges.
He further mentioned that Uttar Pradesh has become a major data center hub and one of the top achiever states in the ease of doing business category. The state government has launched over 450 online services through the Single Window ‘Nivesh Mitra’ to facilitate investment.
SEMICON India 2024 is a three-day event focused on the semiconductor ecosystem, bringing together global leaders, industry experts, academia, and government officials. The event will feature over 250 exhibitors showcasing the latest advancements in semiconductors and electronics.
