Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has called on public representatives to plant 15 crore trees in the state as part of a massive tree plantation program on July 20. The initiative involves the Rural Development Department, Panchayati Raj, and Urban Development Department, with the Forest Department also planting 14.5 crore trees.

Additionally, the ‘Mitra Van’ project will plant trees along the UP-Nepal border, involving 35 forest divisions and dignitaries from other states. The Forest Department is coordinating with neighboring countries and states to enhance greenery through the plantation of 35 crore saplings.

Robust preparations are being made in the 35 districts that border neighboring states to ensure the success of the Vriksharopan Jan Abhiyan-2024 campaign.
