Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath Orders Crackdown on Unauthorized Buses After Unnao Accident
Following a tragic bus accident in Unnao that killed 18 people, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has ordered strict action against unauthorized buses. He emphasized thorough checks on permits, fitness, insurance, and drivers of all passenger and school buses.
In a high-level meeting, CM Yogi directed Transport Department officials to ensure strict compliance with road safety regulations. A month-long intensive campaign has been launched to crack down on unauthorized vehicles.
Transport Commissioner Chandra Bhushan Singh has initiated a comprehensive campaign targeting unauthorized vehicles across Uttar Pradesh. The campaign includes rigorous checks on both passenger buses and school vehicles, with detailed schedules and enforcement actions at various toll plazas.
Earlier on July 10, 18 people were killed and 19 others were injured after a double-decker bus rammed into a milk container on the Lucknow-Agra Expressway. Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced financial aid for the victims’ families.
