Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath to Inspect Flood-Hit Areas in Shravasti and Balrampur

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will visit the flood-affected areas in Shravasti and Balrampur on Thursday to distribute relief materials. The Chief Minister will arrive in Shravasti at 11:40 am and meet with the local people. He will then inspect the flood relief camp and proceed to Balrampur at 1:40 pm.

Uttar Pradesh’s Jal Shakti Minister Swatantra Dev Singh stated that the administration and government are closely monitoring the flood situation in the state. Heavy rainfall in Nepal, Uttarakhand, and Uttar Pradesh over the past few days has led to a flood-like situation. The government is on high alert, with officials working tirelessly to provide relief. Unfortunately, a few people have been affected, and two individuals drowned, with their bodies later recovered.

On Wednesday, Yogi Adityanath inspected the flood-affected areas in Lakhimpur Kheri, conducted an aerial survey, and met with the flood-affected people in Pilibhit, distributing relief materials. He noted that 133 villages have been affected by heavy rainfall in the first week of July, impacting thousands of hectares of cropland. Thanks to timely precautions, a large loss of life and property was averted.

Currently, 12 districts in Uttar Pradesh are flood-affected, with ongoing rescue and relief operations. Many villages in Lakhimpur Kheri have been particularly affected by the overflow of water from the Sharda River due to heavy rainfall in Uttarakhand, causing damage to houses and forcing people to relocate to makeshift homes.
