Usman Khawaja Discusses India’s Bowling Strength Ahead of Border-Gavaskar Trophy

As the Border-Gavaskar Trophy approaches, Australian Test opener Usman Khawaja shared his thoughts on India’s bowling lineup. While Jasprit Bumrah is often highlighted, Khawaja emphasized that India has several other talented bowlers. Bumrah, who debuted in 2018, has taken 173 wickets in 40 Test matches. Against Australia, he has claimed 32 wickets in 7 matches.

Khawaja praised Mohammed Siraj for his effectiveness against both right and left-handed batters. He also mentioned Mohammed Shami, describing him as underrated and a strong performer when fit. Khawaja noted that India’s spinners complement their fast bowlers well.

Looking forward to the series, Khawaja stated that he focuses on scoring runs against Bumrah rather than worrying about getting out. The Border-Gavaskar series will start on November 22 in Perth, followed by Tests in Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, and Sydney, concluding on January 7.
