US and India Collaborate on AI and Quantum Technologies
The United States and India have announced grants exceeding $2 million for joint research projects focused on artificial intelligence (AI) and quantum technologies. A total of 17 projects will receive nearly $120,000 each, with 11 projects focusing on AI and 6 on quantum technologies. These projects aim to address significant societal challenges, such as AI-assisted early cancer detection and advancements in quantum computing. This grant competition is part of the US-India Initiative on Critical and Emerging Technologies (iCET).
Additional Funding for Research
In addition to the AI and quantum grants, a new $1 million USISTEF grant was announced to support joint research on advanced materials and critical minerals. This initiative seeks to enhance collaboration between US and Indian researchers across universities, national labs, and the private sector.
