US Ambassador Eric Garcetti Visits Adani’s Mega Renewable Energy Project in India
US Ambassador to India Eric Garcetti recently visited the Adani Group’s massive renewable energy project sites at Khavda and Mundra port. Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani shared his gratitude for the visit on social media, noting Garcetti’s deep appreciation for Indian culture, including enjoying local foods and participating in traditional activities.
Adani Green Energy Limited is developing a 30 GW renewable energy plant on barren land at Khavda in Kutch, Gujarat, covering an area of 538 sq km. This project is set to become the world’s largest power plant, with an investment of Rs 1.5 lakh crore.
India has committed to significant climate goals at the COP26 summit in 2021, including reaching 500 GW of non-fossil electricity capacity, generating half of its energy from renewables, reducing emissions by 1 billion tonnes by 2030, and achieving net-zero emissions by 2070.
