The UP Rudras, a new team for the Hockey India League (HIL), was introduced in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. The team is owned by Yadu Sports, a special purpose vehicle created by Yadu International Limited, led by Dr. Raghavpat Singhania and Madhavkrishna Singhania, promoters of JK Cement Limited.
Team Identity and Logo
The UP Rudras’ logo combines heritage and modernity, featuring a ‘Y’ symbolizing Yadu Sports and honoring founder Yadupati Singhania. The logo represents unity and strength, reflecting the team’s spirit.
Coaching Team
Paul van Ass, an Olympic-winning coach, has been appointed as the Chief Coach. He will work with Thomas Tichelman, Co-Coach, and Cedric D’Souza, Technical Director. Paul van Ass expressed excitement about developing Indian hockey talent and fostering a winning mentality.

The HIL will return after seven years, running from December 2024 to February 2025. The UP Rudras’ coaching team will participate in player auctions to build a strong team.
