The Uttar Pradesh government is taking a major step to fight environmental pollution by establishing a Bioplastic Park in Kumbhi village, Gola Gokarnnath tehsil, Lakhimpur Kheri district. This project, with an investment of Rs 2,000 crore, is directed by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to be completed as soon as possible.

The Bioplastic Park will be developed over 1,000 hectares by Balrampur Sugar Mill Firm, creating many jobs and encouraging the growth of supporting industries. The Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) will oversee the park’s development.

Bioplastic, made from natural materials like corn, sunflower, or sugar beet, decomposes quickly and reduces environmental pollution. It can be used in various industries such as packaging, ready-made garments, electronics, and other industrial products. The park will not only generate new job opportunities but also serve as a hub for scientists and researchers to enhance plastic manufacturing capabilities using advanced technologies and research.

The park will focus on developing and studying various plastic-related technologies, leading to new products for effective plastic use and recycling. This research aims to solve environmental problems caused by plastic and explore the latest techniques to reduce plastic pollution and recycle contaminated plastic.

Earlier on Friday, during MSME Day, a loan distribution program of Rs 20,000 crore was launched by banks to MSME units in Lucknow. Additionally, the Play Park of Jhansi was inaugurated, and the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) scheme was launched, with loans and toolkits distributed to beneficiaries of various schemes.
