Hathras (Uttar Pradesh) [India], September 6: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed deep sorrow over the death of 12 people in a road accident in Hathras. He offered condolences to the families and wished for a swift recovery of the injured, assuring that the administration will ensure proper treatment.
President of India, Draupadi Murmu, also expressed her condolences and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured. Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh for the kin of the deceased and Rs 50,000 for the injured. He stated that both the local administration and state government are providing all possible assistance to the victims.
The accident involved a collision between a bus and a loader vehicle due to overtaking, resulting in 12 deaths and 16 injuries. Hathras DM, Ashish Kumar, confirmed the details of the incident.
