Union Minister Shobha Karandlaje Criticizes Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah Over Mandya Clashes

Bengaluru, Karnataka – Union Minister Shobha Karandlaje launched a strong attack on Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, accusing his governance and policies of causing the Mandya clashes. She referred to his leadership as ‘Hitler governance’ and criticized his ‘appeasement policy’ towards one community.

Press Conference Highlights

During a press conference, Karandlaje stated, ‘Such incidents in Karnataka are happening because of your appeasement towards one community. You have given such freedom to speak and do such acts against Hindus. You took back the cases which were against PFI and left out, such traitors creating such situation in Karnataka.’

FIRs have been registered against Shobha Karandlaje and BJP leader R Ashoka for allegedly spreading false information about the clashes in Nagamangala town of Mandya.

Accusations Against the Government

Karandlaje accused the Karnataka government of favoring one community, leading to such incidents. She said, ‘You can file hundreds of cases against us. Your partner has also filed a case against me in Chennai. They asked for my apology. I have told them we’ll fight it, I’m not and nowhere going to apologize for anything that I said.’

She cited examples of ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ slogans being raised in the legislative assembly and other incidents, questioning the government’s actions. ‘Palestine flags are being raised in Karnataka. Yesterday Ashok Chakra in the Indian flag was replaced with Urdu words in the Nandini layout in Bengaluru. We heard Pakistan Zindabad in Vidhan Soudha. What’s the wrong thing we did when we asked a question? You have filed a case against me and R. Ashok to please minorities; you’re killing the democracy,’ she added.

Government’s Response

Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara responded to the FIRs against BJP leaders, stating that the law will come into force when limits are crossed. ‘Shobha Karandlaje is a Union Minister and R Ashoka is LoP, when they go beyond the limit, naturally, the law will come into force,’ he said. He dismissed BJP’s claims of politicizing the issue, stating that actions have consequences, leading to the FIRs.
