Union Minister Sanjay Seth Visits HAL to Boost Make-in-India in Defence

Union Minister of State for Defence, Sanjay Seth, visited Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) in Bengaluru on Monday. He emphasized the company’s significant role in achieving the Make-in-India dream in the defence sector.

During his visit, Seth addressed HAL’s top management and assured them of the government’s support. He called on the company to tackle challenges in design, development, production, and delivery to contribute to the government’s vision of ‘Viksit Bharat’.

HAL presented its product profile, including current and future projects, aircraft upgrades, avionics developments, exports, engine production, and support for ISRO platforms. Seth also visited the LCA Tejas and Helicopter Divisions, showing keen interest in their activities.

C B Ananthakrishnan, CMD (Addl. Charge), thanked Seth for the government’s support and highlighted HAL’s proactive measures to overcome operational challenges. HAL Directors and CEOs were present during the visit.

Earlier, on July 11, Seth visited Advanced Weapons and Equipment India Limited (AWEIL) and Gun and Shell Factory (GSF) in Kolkata. He emphasized AWEIL’s achievements and future prospects, urging the workforce to maximize human resources and collaborate with associated establishments.

Seth’s visits underscore the Ministry of Defence’s commitment to bolstering India’s defence capabilities and promoting self-reliance in defence production.
