The Ministry of Civil Aviation, led by Union Minister Rammohan Naidu, issued an advisory to all airlines to prevent fare hikes after a roof collapse at Terminal 1 of Delhi airport on Friday morning.

High-Level Review Meeting

Rammohan Naidu convened a high-level review meeting with officials to address the situation and ensure passenger safety and convenience. A 24/7 war room was established at the airport to manage the other terminals efficiently.

War Room Functions

The war room will ensure full refunds for canceled flights or provide alternative travel route tickets within 7 days.

Terminal Closure and Inspections

Terminal 1 is temporarily closed, with six people injured and one dead. The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has been directed to inspect all airports’ structural strength within 2-5 days and submit reports to the Ministry of Civil Aviation.

Future Safety Measures

Based on the inspection findings, the ministry will develop long-term safety measures to prevent such incidents. Rammohan Naidu emphasized that passenger safety and convenience are top priorities, and efforts are being made to resolve the current challenges swiftly.
