Union Minister Ramdas Athawale Calls for CBI Probe into Tamil Nadu BSP Leader K Armstrong’s Murder

Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], July 17: Union Minister Ramdas Athawale has expressed concern over the murder of Tamil Nadu BSP chief K Armstrong. He urged Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin to transfer the case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for a thorough investigation.

Athawale met Armstrong’s family in Chennai and criticized the state government for not providing adequate security to leaders from reserved communities. He demanded strong action on Armstrong’s death and emphasized the need to maintain law and order.

Armstrong was hacked to death by unidentified men near his residence in Perambur, Chennai. The police suspect the involvement of associates of gangster Arcot Suresh, who was murdered last year. Eight suspects have been arrested, and several weapons have been seized.

Additional Commissioner of Police (Law and Order), North Chennai, Asra Garg, mentioned that the associates of Arcot Suresh believed Armstrong conspired in Suresh’s murder. Special teams have been formed to comprehensively probe the case.
