Union Minister Pralhad Joshi Criticizes Justice Michael D’Cunha Over PPE Kit Investigation
In Haveri, Karnataka, Union Minister Pralhad Joshi accused Justice Michael D’Cunha of acting as an agent while investigating the procurement of PPE kits by the former BJP government during the 2020 Covid pandemic. Joshi questioned the timing of the interim report, which recommended prosecuting former Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa and Health Minister B Sriramulu. He suggested the report was released to distract voters during elections.
Joshi also criticized Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, accusing him of financial misconduct in the Valmiki scandal and questioning his actions regarding housing in Shiggaon. He claimed the current government raised prices of milk and alcohol and mishandled Waqf property notices, alleging land seizures from farmers.
In response, Karnataka Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao defended Justice D’Cunha’s integrity and accused Joshi of defamation and intimidation. Rao suggested that the Commission should file a complaint against Joshi’s statements.
