Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Mansukh Mandaviya emphasized the importance of youth in achieving Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a developed India by 2047. Speaking at the ‘Impact With Youth Conclave 2024’ in Ahmedabad, he highlighted the government’s efforts to empower young people through initiatives like the ‘MY Bharat’ platform and the ‘Plant4Mother’ campaign.

The event, organized by United Nations India, UNICEF, UNICEF YuWaah, and Elixir Foundation in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, attracted hundreds of young people dedicated to unlocking their potential. Mandaviya stated, “The youth are not just the leaders of tomorrow but the change-makers of today. Your energy, innovation, and dedication are key to realizing the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047.”

Mandaviya also discussed the transformative potential of digital technologies and urged the youth to register on the ‘MY Bharat’ platform, which aims to align the country’s future with the changing times. He mentioned that the platform would serve as a one-stop solution for all youth needs, accessible both nationally and internationally.

In a special segment titled ‘Yuvaa Samvaad,’ Mandaviya engaged in an interactive dialogue with the youth, where numerous young participants shared their inspiring stories of overcoming challenges and driving positive change in their communities.

Cynthia McCaffrey, UNICEF Representative in India, stressed the importance of engaging youth in global action. The event coincided with United Nations’ International Youth Day, which highlights the role of young individuals in shaping the world’s future. This year’s theme, ‘From Clicks to Progress: Youth Digital Pathways for Sustainable Development,’ underscores the role of digitalization in advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
