Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya Announces New Skill Development Scheme for Youth
Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya announced a new scheme in the budget aimed at skill development. Under this scheme, top companies will provide internships to one crore youth over the next five years, with an internship allowance of Rs 5,000 per month. This initiative aims to facilitate employment and skill development for 4.1 crore youth over a five-year period.
Mandaviya praised the Union Budget, stating that it focuses on increasing employment, supporting the middle class, and boosting the country’s economic growth. He highlighted that this is the first budget under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s third term.
Meanwhile, the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) held protests across Tamil Nadu, alleging that the state was neglected in the Union Budget 2024. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin criticized the budget, calling it a ‘vengeful act’ against states and people who boycotted the BJP.
The NITI Aayog Governing Council meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Modi, will discuss the vision for a developed India by 2047. The meeting aims to enhance participative governance and collaboration between the central and state governments to improve the quality of life for both rural and urban populations.
