Union Minister Manohar Lal Visits Tehri Hydro Power Complex in Uttarakhand

Union Minister of Power, Manohar Lal, inspected the ongoing construction work at the 2400 MW Tehri Power Complex in Tehri Garhwal, Uttarakhand. During his visit, he reviewed the 1000 MW Tehri Pumped Storage Plant (PSP), a significant project under THDC India Limited, which is crucial for India’s renewable energy infrastructure.

He examined several key areas, including the Butterfly Valve Chamber, the Machine Hall, and the Outfall of the Tehri PSP. He also reviewed the progress on the river joining works, essential for integrating the PSP into existing water management systems.

The minister congratulated the THDC team for their dedication and hard work in advancing renewable hydropower generation. He acknowledged their achievements and the high standards set in developing the 2400 MW Tehri Power Complex. He emphasized that THDC’s contributions align with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for a developed India by 2047.

Manohar Lal described the Tehri Dam as an engineering marvel and highlighted the strategic importance of hydropower in combating climate change and supporting energy security. He urged the team to maintain their momentum and complete the remaining project phases on time. He also praised THDCIL’s efforts in advancing hydropower technology and encouraged the team to continue striving for excellence.
