Union Minister Manohar Lal Reviews Urban Schemes in Punjab

On November 7, a significant meeting took place at Punjab Bhavan, where Manohar Lal, the Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs, reviewed urban schemes in Punjab. He was joined by Hardip Singh Mundian, Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Ravjot Singh, Minister for Local Government, and Harbhajan Singh ETO, Minister for Power and PWD, from the Government of Punjab.

The meeting began with a warm welcome from Tejveer Singh, Additional Chief Secretary of Punjab. The Union Minister then assessed the progress of various urban sector projects being implemented in the state. Key schemes discussed included AMRUT, Smart City, PMAY(U), NULM, PM Svanidhi, SBM, and PM-e Bus Sewa.

Manohar Lal emphasized the importance of completing pending projects under the AMRUT, Smart Cities Mission, and PMAY. He urged state officials to expedite the remediation work on legacy dump sites and to implement the e-Bus Sewa mission in all eligible cities. He highlighted the need for cooperation between the state and central governments to ensure the benefits of these schemes reach the intended beneficiaries.
