Union Minister Kumaraswamy Visits HMT Plant in Kerala
Union Minister of Heavy Industries, HD Kumaraswamy, visited the Hindustan Machine Tools (HMT) unit in Kalamassery, Kerala. During his visit, he toured the plant and conducted a comprehensive review meeting to assess the company’s current operations and prospects.
Following the plant tour, Kumaraswamy held a meeting with the unions and other employees of HMT Kalamassery. The discussions focused on the challenges faced by the unit, potential solutions, and strategies for enhancing productivity and employee welfare.
He expressed his commitment to the revival and growth of HMT, emphasizing the importance of the company’s role in the heavy industries sector. He assured the employees of his support and highlighted the government’s initiatives aimed at strengthening the industrial sector in India.
The Union Minister also posted on X about his visit and said, “I visited and inspected The Hindustan Machine Tools (HMT) factory in Kalamassery, Kerala. During the visit, I toured various departments to personally observe the factory’s operations. Additionally, I discussed with top officials about establishing a production facility aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Make in India’ and ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ initiatives.”
