Union Minister Kiren Rijiju Visits Kargil, Announces Development Plans

Union Minister Kiren Rijiju visited Kargil on Sunday and praised the government’s work under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. He noted that the people of Kargil have benefited from the government’s efforts and that future work will help in many sectors, including cultural heritage.

Rijiju announced major development initiatives aimed at enhancing the socio-economic status of minorities in Ladakh. Key announcements included the establishment of a cultural center and an educational institution. He handed over a financial sanction of Rs 10 crore for Ladakh.

Rijiju also mentioned considering the introduction of Ziyarat tours for Shia Muslims, similar to the Hajj pilgrimage. During his visit, he attended Muharram Majalis at Jamiyat Ul Ulama Isna Ashria, Kargil, and interacted with local leaders.

Meanwhile, the budget session of Parliament will be held from July 22 to August 12, with the union budget for 2024-25 presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on July 23. This budget is significant as it is the first of the BJP-led NDA government’s new term.
