Union Minister Kinjrapu Ram Mohan Naidu Stresses on Aviation Safety and AI Integration

New Delhi [India], September 23: Union Minister of Civil Aviation Kinjrapu Ram Mohan Naidu emphasized the importance of robust safety measures in India’s rapidly growing aviation sector. Speaking at a seminar organized by the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB), he highlighted the role of human factors in aviation accidents and the potential of AI to mitigate human errors.

Naidu addressed senior Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) officials and airline representatives, stating, “Human factors play a crucial role in aircraft safety, from cockpit to ground support operations. Understanding these factors and addressing vulnerabilities is essential for aviation safety. The country has achieved remarkable growth in the number of airports and fleet in the past 10 years.”

He noted a 10 percent increase in human error-related incidents over the past decade, attributing this to factors such as pilot fatigue and communication breakdowns. Naidu stressed the need to address these human factors to ensure continued safety.

During his address, Naidu also focused on the use of AI to mitigate human errors, suggesting the integration of advanced psychological research in training programs for pilots and air traffic controllers. He stated that combining advanced technologies like AI, machine learning, and data analytics with psychological research can optimize pilot behavior and performance, enhancing safety and efficiency in the aviation industry.

Naidu also suggested enhancing safety through stress management, emphasizing the need for robust stress management programs to create a stress-free work environment. He highlighted the role of aviation psychology in ensuring safety, stating, “The aviation industry requires robust stress management programs for a stress-free work environment. Aviation psychology plays a crucial role in ensuring safety. A stress-free environment for everyone working in this aviation industry is necessary.”
