Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia Requests Industrial Units in Ashoknagar for Bina Refinery Expansion
Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia has written a letter to Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri, requesting the establishment of industrial units in Ashoknagar district as part of the Bina refinery expansion project.
Scindia highlighted that these industrial units would help develop Ashoknagar district and generate employment opportunities, leading to economic and social development for youth, women, and the public.
In his letter dated July 26, Scindia mentioned that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had performed the Bhoomi Pujan for the Rs 49,000 crore Bina Refinery expansion project on September 14 last year. The project aims to increase the refinery’s capacity from 7.8 MMTPA to 11 MMTPA and will be completed in five years.
Scindia emphasized that Ashoknagar district, which is part of his Guna Lok Sabha constituency, is well-connected to Bina via railways and road. He believes that setting up industrial units in Ashoknagar would lead to significant industrial development and job creation in the district.
He requested Minister Puri to direct the concerned officials to set up the related industrial units in Ashoknagar district and to inform him about the actions taken.
The Bina Refinery expansion project is expected to save Rs 20,000 crores per annum in foreign exchange through import substitution, contributing to the Atma Nirbhar Bharat mission of making India self-reliant in petrochemical production.
