Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia Discusses India’s Communication Future

Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia informed on Monday that a detailed discussion was undertaken with the three advisory groups set up by the Ministry of Communications to make India ‘aatmanirbhar’ and a ‘world leader’ in the communication space. The three advisory groups are the satellite advisory group, the telecom equipment advisory group, and the telecom electronic advisory group. These groups are essential in India’s communication ecosystem.

Addressing media persons, Scindia said, ‘A detailed discussion was done with the three advisory groups. We have done a deep dive into the issues related to each one of these verticals. How is it that we can grow in independent verticals? What are the issues that we need to deliver on? Today we have a detailed discussion on it.’

Scindia highlighted that the next meeting’s date depends on preparation, where they will discuss the initial two advisory groups in detail. They will delineate three aspects: India’s current position, the desired future position, and the necessary drivers and actionable points to achieve these goals. He emphasized a participatory environment to make India ‘aatmanirbhar’ and a world leader in communication, as envisioned by PM Modi.

Earlier, Scindia met three committees comprising satellite communications and telecom gear makers to prepare a roadmap for self-reliance and global leadership in the sector. He also launched the North East Region Agri Commodity E-Connect (NERACE) app to benefit farmers and promote the region’s agricultural products internationally.
