In Bhubaneshwar, Odisha, Union Minister Jual Oram expressed his deep sorrow over the passing of Ratan Tata, a respected industrialist. Oram described Tata’s death as a significant loss for the nation, praising him as an ideal human being who inspired many and contributed to numerous institutions.

The final rites for Ratan Tata were conducted with full state honors at the Worli Crematorium in Mumbai. His stepmother, Simone Tata, and close aide, Shantanu Naidu, attended the ceremony, along with Tata’s adopted stray dog, Goa, who was brought to pay respects.

Ratan Tata, who passed away on October 9, 2024, was celebrated for his visionary leadership and philanthropic efforts. He served as the Chairman of Tata Sons from 1991 until his retirement in 2012 and was later named Chairman Emeritus. Under his leadership, the Tata Group expanded globally, acquiring brands like Jaguar Land Rover and Tetley. He was awarded the Padma Vibhushan in 2008 for his contributions to business and society.
