Union Minister Jitendra Singh Praises BJP’s Inclusive Manifesto for Jammu and Kashmir

Union Minister Jitendra Singh lauded the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) manifesto for poll-bound Jammu and Kashmir, describing it as ‘inclusive’ and in line with PM Modi’s vision of Vikshit Bharat.

Speaking about the manifesto, Singh highlighted its focus on women and youth. He mentioned that the manifesto promises financial support for youth coaching, ranging from Rs 10,000 to 20,000, to ensure no youth feels abandoned due to their family’s economic condition. He believes this will encourage people to elect BJP’s MLA to strengthen PM Modi’s vision.

Singh also addressed the opposition parties’ plans to restore Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, expressing confidence that the people of Kashmir will not support such leaders. He emphasized that PM Modi has put India on the path of development.

The BJP’s manifesto includes 25 promises, focusing on women, youth, Kashmiri Pandits, restoring temples, and eradicating terrorism. BJP J-K chief Ravinder Raina described the manifesto as a ‘people’s manifesto’.

One of the key promises is the ‘Maa Samman Yojana’, which aims to provide Rs 18,000 per year to the senior-most woman in every household in Jammu and Kashmir. Additionally, the manifesto promises assistance for Women Self-Help Groups (SHGs) on bank loan interest.

Jammu and Kashmir has a total of 90 Assembly constituencies, with 7 seats reserved for Scheduled Castes (SCs) and 9 seats reserved for Scheduled Tribes (STs). According to the Election Commission of India, there are 88.06 lakh eligible electors in the region. In the previous Assembly elections, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) won 28 seats, the BJP secured 25, the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (NC) won 15, and the Congress won 12.
