Udhampur (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], September 7: Union Minister Jitendra Singh stated that the security situation in Kashmir has improved since Narendra Modi became Prime Minister. He mentioned that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi can now freely roam the valley due to PM Modi’s efforts.

Singh said, “It is because of PM Modi, that Rahul Gandhi is free to roam around and enjoy his time in Kashmir. When they were in the centre and the state, they never dared to come out of their security blanket. It is PM Modi who has ensured their ‘Azadi’ and security.”

Amit Shah Criticizes Congress-NC Alliance

Earlier, BJP leader Amit Shah criticized the Congress and National Conference’s (NC) manifesto, accusing them of wanting to bring back the old system and start talks with Pakistan. Shah stated, “Till there is no peace, there will be no talks with Pakistan.”

Shah also accused the Congress-NC alliance of wanting to spread terrorism, revoke reservations for Gujjars, Bakarwal, Paharis, and Dalits, release criminals, and restart LoC trade with Pakistan. He emphasized that the BJP will protect these reservations and maintain peace.

BJP’s Election Promises

Shah released the BJP’s manifesto for the upcoming Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections, which includes 25 promises focusing on women, youths, Kashmiri Pandits, restoring temples, and eliminating terrorism.

Upcoming Elections

The Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections will be held in three phases on September 18, 25, and October 1. There are 90 assembly constituencies, with 7 seats reserved for SCs and 9 for STs. According to the Election Commission of India, there are 88.06 lakh eligible voters in Jammu and Kashmir. These are the first assembly elections after the abrogation of Article 370.
