Union Minister Jitendra Singh Praises PM Modi for Peace in Jammu and Kashmir and Space Achievements

Union Minister Jitendra Singh praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his decisive leadership in restoring peace and normalcy in Jammu and Kashmir. He noted that this has allowed even senior leaders from the opposition to freely enjoy the region’s newfound stability, as evidenced by a recent visit to ‘Ahdoos’ Restaurant in Lal Chowk.

Singh stated, “This is a testament to the peace and normalcy that have been restored in the region.” He highlighted the historic decision of abrogating Article 370, which brought citizenship rights to a vast population in Jammu and Kashmir who were deprived of it for the last seven decades.

Singh criticized those who supported Article 370, saying they exploited constitutional provisions for political interests. He remarked that it enabled the ruling dispensation in the erstwhile state to get elected with minimal voting and continue their dynasty rule.

As the region celebrates the 5th anniversary of this decision, Singh noted significant developments in democratic, governance, development, and security situations. He recalled that the 73rd and 74th Amendments of the Panchayat Act were not applied in Jammu and Kashmir by the previous coalition government, preventing democratic decentralization.

Singh credited PM Modi for bringing peace and development to the region, giving confidence to the people and assuring that Jammu and Kashmir will play a pivotal role in the country’s development.

Regarding India’s maiden National Space Day, Singh traced India’s space journey back to 1969 and lauded the scientific community for their dedication. He highlighted India’s achievement of becoming the first nation to land on the Moon’s South Pole and credited Modi’s leadership for accelerating scientific missions and unlocking the potential of India’s scientific community.

Singh noted the significant increase in space startups, now numbering nearly 300, following the opening of the space sector to private participation. He praised Modi for enabling India’s space scientists to fulfill the dream of their founding father, Vikram Sarabhai.
