Union Minister HD Kumaraswamy Criticizes Cauvery Water Meeting
Union Minister HD Kumaraswamy has voiced his dissatisfaction with the recent all-party meeting on the Cauvery water issue. He questioned the effectiveness of the meeting and expressed frustration over the decision to release water to Tamil Nadu, suggesting it was done under the pretense of supporting farmers.
Kumaraswamy mocked the idea of attending the meeting just for the refreshments, saying, “Should I have attended the meeting just to eat the almonds provided?” He also highlighted that authorities prevented him from holding meetings with officials in Mandya, questioning the need for such restrictions.
He criticized Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, stating, “Whatever program we do, we do it sincerely. His character did not work illegally.” Reflecting on his own tenure, Kumaraswamy said, “I picked up the garbage of the corporation. You are carrying a movie box; in our time, there were no CDs.”
