Union Minister HD Kumaraswamy Talks About MUDA Scam and Criticizes Deputy CM DK Shivakumar

Mysore (Karnataka) [India], July 5: Union Minister for Heavy Industries and Steel, HD Kumaraswamy, launched an indirect attack on Deputy CM DK Shivakumar, claiming that the MUDA (Mysore Urban Development Authority) scam has been exposed by those eyeing the Chief Minister’s chair.

Speaking to the media after visiting Mother Chamundeshwari in Mysore, Kumaraswamy said, “Why and how did the scandal that did not come out for so long come now? Behind this is the role of a person who has eyes on the CM’s chair. The CD factory was closed.”

He added, “BJP friends are fighting about this. But to get over the scandal, it is the Congressmen who are aiding and abetting from within. I have information about this.”

Kumaraswamy also criticized the compensation demands, saying, “The CM is saying that the government should give a compensation of Rs 62 crores. Does Siddaramaiah, who says this, not know the plight of the people? Do you not understand the pain of the poor in the state? They acquire land overnight. They stop them on the street. Not just compensation. Only you are asking for a huge amount of compensation.”

Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar dismissed allegations of any scam in MUDA site allocation, stating, “All the scams that the state witnessed have taken place during the BJP tenure. We will respond to all the allegations during the session.”

When asked if Kumaraswamy’s ‘Jana Samparka’ programs in Mandya were copies of his ‘Government at Your Doorstep’ programs, Shivakumar said, “Let him do it. It is good for the people if leaders do programs like this, even if it is a copy of someone else.”
