Union Minister HD Kumaraswamy Criticizes INDIA Bloc Protest, PM Modi Remembers Emergency

New Delhi, India – Union Minister HD Kumaraswamy criticized the INDIA bloc for their protest in Parliament, where they carried copies of the Constitution. He called the protest ‘gimmicks’ and supported Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s remarks on the Emergency period.

Prime Minister Modi, addressing the media outside the new Parliament building, recalled the 21-month Emergency period that began on June 25, 1975. He emphasized that the new generation should remember this time when democracy was suppressed, and vowed to protect India’s democratic traditions.

Meanwhile, Congress MP Manickam Tagore criticized PM Modi’s government, claiming that democracy is under threat. He accused the government of actions against democratic forces and stated that the INDIA bloc’s protest was to remind the government of the importance of the Constitution.

Tagore also mentioned that PM Modi has lost the confidence of the people, as evidenced by the reduction in his party’s seats from 303 to 240. He stressed that any attempt to disturb or change the Constitution would not be tolerated.

PM Modi concluded his address by urging the opposition to maintain the dignity of democracy and focus on substance rather than slogans.
