Union Minister HD Kumaraswamy Leads ‘Mysore Chalo’ March Against Congress Government

Union Minister HD Kumaraswamy announced on Saturday the start of a 10-day ‘Mysore Chalo’ march to protest against alleged illegal activities by the Congress government in Karnataka. The march, supported by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Janata Dal-Secular (JD(S)), aims to inform the public about corruption and land grabbing.

Kumaraswamy stated, “We are going to finish this programme in Mysuru. It is against several illegal activities done by this (Congress) government: corruption, land grabbing.” He added that the march would educate people on how the government came to power and its alleged illegal activities.

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar criticized the march, calling it an attempt to create an issue out of a non-issue. He said, “Congress wants to ask them what they have done in their tenure. It was the most scandalous government BJP ever had. They are doing padayatra for nothing, they are trying to make an issue out of a non-issue.”

Additionally, a complaint has been filed by social activist Snehamayi Krishna against Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and others for allegedly forging documents to claim compensation from the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA). The complaint alleges wrongdoing by Siddaramaiah, his wife Parvathy, his brother-in-law Malikarjuna Swamy Devaraj, and his family, claiming they created fake documents to obtain valuable plots.
