Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri Praises Indian Oil Corporations on 65th Foundation Day
On the 65th foundation day of the Indian Oil Corporations (IOC), Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Hardeep Singh Puri, lauded the significant role of IOC. He emphasized that IOC has managed to keep domestic petrol and diesel prices stable despite global fuel price hikes. Additionally, IOC ensured the supply of Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) to remote areas during natural disasters.
In a social media post, Puri mentioned that during natural calamities like floods in Assam and landslides in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Kerala, oil companies played a crucial role in relief and rescue operations. He noted that ATF supplies were rushed to forward helipads from places like Dehradun, Saraswa, and Mohali to rescue stranded locals and tourists.
Puri also highlighted the establishment of a 24/7 war room by the Petroleum Ministry, staffed by senior officials and led by Indian Oil, to ensure that affected people reached their destinations quickly. He praised the oil companies for their efforts in maintaining fuel supplies during global price hikes, ensuring that India never runs short of petrol, diesel, or gas cylinders, even during natural disasters.
