New Delhi, India – Union Minister of Heavy Industries, H.D. Kumaraswamy, spoke at the ‘National Conference on Building India as an Electric Mobility Hub for Viksit Bharat’ organized by ASSOCHAM in New Delhi. The event included key industry figures like Deepak Sood, Secretary General of ASSOCHAM, and Nishant Arya, Chairman of the National Council on Green Mobility.

In his speech, Minister Kumaraswamy highlighted the Ministry’s dedication to enhancing India’s electric vehicle (EV) ecosystem. He stated, “Our commitment to advancing India’s EV ecosystem focuses on fostering local manufacturing and promoting sustainable growth. This aligns perfectly with PM Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ and ‘Viksit Bharat 2047,’ as well as our national goal of achieving Net Zero by 2070.”

The Minister emphasized that adopting electric mobility will transform transportation, create jobs, reduce reliance on fossil fuels, and lead to a cleaner, greener future. These goals are in line with PM Modi’s initiatives and aim to make India a global hub for electric mobility.

Tarun Kapoor, Advisor to the PMO, also spoke at the event. He discussed the global progress in the EV sector and stressed that India must embrace EVs due to environmental challenges. He suggested the potential of electric trucks and ambulances and the need for more charging points at petrol stations and parking lots.

Nishant Arya highlighted the importance of infrastructure support and technological advancements to drive growth. He believes that with the right support, India could become a global leader in the EV sector.

The conference provided a platform for stakeholders to discuss and collaborate on strategies to accelerate India’s journey towards sustainable transportation and economic growth.
