Union Minister Giriraj Singh Criticizes Akhilesh Yadav Over Bahraich Incident
In Bhagalpur, Bihar, Union Minister Giriraj Singh criticized Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav for not speaking about the Bahraich incident. Singh suggested that Yadav’s silence was to protect Muslim votes and accused him of having an “anti-Hindu” stance, similar to his father, Mulayam Singh Yadav, who ordered police action against Karsevaks in 1990.
Singh also targeted other leaders from the INDIA bloc, including Tejashwi Yadav and Rahul Gandhi, for their silence on the issue, claiming it was for Muslim votes. He commented on the Bahraich encounter, stating that the criminals deserved their punishment.
Giriraj Singh is leading the Hindu Swabhiman Yatra, aiming to unite Hindus. Before the Yatra, he offered prayers at the Vriddheshwar Nath Temple in Bhagalpur. Meanwhile, security was heightened at the district hospital after two accused in the Bahraich violence were injured in a police encounter.
On October 17, Sarfaraz and Mohammad Talib were shot by Uttar Pradesh Police while attempting to flee to Nepal. Five accused have been arrested, and the injured are receiving treatment. The violence in Bahraich occurred during a Durga idol immersion procession, resulting in the death of Ramgopal Mishra and injuries to others.
