Patna (Bihar) [India], August 29: Union Minister Giriraj Singh reacted strongly to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s recent comments. Banerjee had warned that unrest in Bengal could spread to other states like Assam, North-East, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, and Delhi.

Giriraj Singh’s Reaction

Singh compared Banerjee to North Korea’s Supreme Leader Kim Jong-Un, stating that she cannot tolerate opposition. He said, “This can’t be the language of a democratic person, of a Chief Minister. North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un doesn’t tolerate his Opposition. Similarly, Mamata Banerjee doesn’t tolerate the words of her Opposition.”

BJP Spokesperson’s Criticism

BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawala also criticized Banerjee, accusing her of insulting protestors and doctors. He questioned whether INDIA alliance leaders Rahul Gandhi and Akhilesh Yadav would address Banerjee’s remarks about burning other states.

Mamata Banerjee’s Statement

Earlier, Banerjee had claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is using his party to incite unrest in Bengal over a recent incident involving the rape and murder of a woman doctor in Kolkata. She warned, “If you burn Bengal, Assam, North-East, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, and Delhi too shall burn! We will topple your chair.”

Assam CM’s Response

Assam Chief Minister also condemned Banerjee’s remarks, stating, “Didi, how dare you threaten Assam? Don’t show us red eyes. Don’t even try to burn India with your politics of failure. It does not suit you to speak divisive language.”
