Union Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat celebrated World Skydiving Day by skydiving at Skyhigh, India’s only civilian skydiving drop zone at Narnaul Airstrip, Haryana. He shared his excitement on social media, stating, “For new and adventurous Bharat, the skies too are no limit.”

Shekhawat expressed his joy after the jump and highlighted the potential of skydiving to boost India’s adventure tourism industry. He noted that many Indians travel abroad for skydiving, but now they can experience it within the country.

The minister also flagged off VT-SBS, India’s first dedicated skydiving aircraft, a Cessna-182P Skylane imported from the USA. This marks a significant step in India’s aviation and adventure sports landscape.

Rudra Bhanu Solanki, founder of Skyhigh India, emphasized the rigorous safety measures and thrilling experiences they offer. Established in 2016, Skyhigh India is the nation’s premier international skydiving drop zone, located just two hours from Delhi at the Narnaul Airstrip.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) is working on comprehensive regulations for aerosports, ensuring a secure and thriving future for skydiving in India.
