Union Minister G Kishan Reddy and PM Modi Respond to Rahul Gandhi’s Remarks on Hindus
New Delhi, July 2: Union Minister G Kishan Reddy has demanded an apology from Rahul Gandhi for his remarks on the Hindu community in Parliament. Reddy condemned Gandhi’s statement that Hindus commit violence and emphasized that democracy in India is tied to the Hindu majority. He also noted that terrorism and communal clashes have reduced under PM Modi’s governance.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also reacted strongly to Gandhi’s comments, accusing him of falsely labeling Hindus as violent. PM Modi stated that such accusations are part of a serious conspiracy and that the country will not forget these actions for centuries. He criticized the opposition for insulting Hindu traditions and deities, which he said hurts 1.4 billion people in India.
During the motion of thanks for the President’s address, Rahul Gandhi accused the BJP-led government of attacking the idea of India and the Constitution. He claimed that those who resisted this attack were personally targeted and some leaders were jailed. Gandhi also associated the Hindu symbol ‘Abhayamudra’ with the Congress party, emphasizing its message of fearlessness and non-violence.
