Union Minister Bhagirath Choudhary Praises PM Modi’s Work for Farmers and Poor
Union Minister Bhagirath Choudhary, on Saturday, highlighted the significant development expected in the next five years under the new National Democratic Alliance government. He praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his work in various sectors, especially for the poor.
Choudhary mentioned that PM Modi, after taking charge for the third time, signed the Kisan Samman Nidhi and approved an increase in the Minimum Support Prices (MSP) for all mandated Kharif crops on June 19. He also released the 17th instalment of the PM-KISAN scheme on June 18 in Varanasi, benefiting over 9.26 crore farmers with more than Rs 20,000 crore.
The PM-KISAN scheme, launched in 2019, aims to supplement the financial needs of land-holding farmers. It provides Rs 6,000 annually in three equal instalments, transferred directly to farmers’ bank accounts. To date, over Rs 3.04 lakh crore has been disbursed to more than 11 crore farmers, with the total amount expected to exceed Rs 3.24 lakh crore with the latest release.
