Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw Talks About Railway Safety and New Developments in West Bengal
Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw arrived in Kolkata and participated in the ‘Swacchata Abhiyan’ at Garden Reach. He spoke about the reduction in railway accidents, stating that systematic and structural issues are being resolved. Vaishnaw noted that accidents have decreased from 171 per year a decade ago to just 40 per year now.
He also mentioned the development of the Kavach 4.0 safety system, which has been installed on 2000 kilometers of track and 900 locomotives. The system has received the highest level of safety certification from global safety assessors.
Additionally, Vaishnaw extended his wishes for Shubho Mahalya and announced new developments for West Bengal railways. A bridge will be inaugurated, and the capacity of Sealdah suburban services will be increased from nine coaches to 12 coaches.
